This year because of gas prices at a all high ($1.37 a Liter) and the Canadian dollar being so strong (par $1 usd for $1 cad) there is less people staying over but a lot more day trippers. Because there are more day trips to Niagara Falls there is less people spending time and money during the evening. This is causing a lot of businesses to stop and rethink their old well known forecasts for a given day, week, or even a month. The forecasts are spread sheets that project what sales should be from the data of the sales last year or the year before. Well now with the heavy day trippers and less over night stays those forecasts are not very accurate anymore.
You will see more deals for day activities then night. You will also notice cheaper room rates to stimulate more over night stays. Weekends are still busy on Saturday and Sunday Niagara Falls is very busy with stay overs and day trippers during these days.
You may have a better time if you plan a stay over instead of a day trip, but if you plan a day trip you may have larger crowds during the day.
This is exactly a little something I have to find more information about, appreciation for the blog post.
